About Critical Link Canada
Changes at Critical Link
The Board of Critical Link would like to announce that, as of June 17th, 2010, Critical Link Canada has transformed into Critical Link International: International Council for the Development of Community Interpreting. This change to the Critical Link name better reflects the international community of Critical Link and prepares the organization for improved future communication and global collaboration.
As we move forward with this new name, we are charged with ensuring that Critical Link members everywhere are able to connect with the Critical Link organization. To that end, we are working on many new initiatives, including a new website. So stayed tuned for the launch of the Critical Link International website.
Why Critical Link?
While the name may have changed, the mandate of Critical Link remains the same.
Community interpreters provide a critical link between service providers in legal, health and social service settings and clients with whom they do not share a common language. In the same way, our national and international conferences are a critical medium for discussion about issues related to accreditation, training and research in the field of community interpretation. This Web site provides further opportunities for contributions to the discourse on community interpretation.
We thank you for your patience as we transition to our new website.
